Certified Training for PROFIBUS Installer

A hands-on based course, recognized in all industries

With the help of actual hands-on tasks you will learn how PROFIBUS fieldbus networks are installed in detail. The emphasis is on the correct installation and usage of tools.

Content

  • In the theoretical part the following content is covered:
    PROFIBUS organization, overview PROFIBUS DP/PA, DP connector installation guideline, Fieldbus cable, DP and PA components.

  • Cable routing, grounding and shielding, termination, device addressing, assembly acceptance, PROFIBUS tools, measurements on the physical layer of PROFIBUS DP/PA.

  • In the practical part the following content is covered:
    Wiring of a DP/PA bus segment, how to measure a signal, what is a good or bad signal, external influences on the bus cable, good cabling practices.

  • Simulation of electromagnetic interference, measuring with a handheld oscilloscope, use of diverse tools on the market, steps to a well-functioning PROFIBUS network.

Objectives

  • At the end of the course you will be able to install new PROFIBUS networks and avoid typical installation mistakes on the physical layer of PROFIBUS DP and PROFIBUS PA segments.

  • You will also understand the benefits of the technology and know how to use the installation tools available on the market today.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of electronics and ability to use a computer.

The training is internationally recognized and certified by the PROFIBUS organization.

Evaluation methodology

Participants are given time to work with the various components of a PROFIBUS network.
We put emphasis on a balanced approach to theory and practice as well as a vendor-neutral atmosphere.
Mornings are spent learning the theoretical background and afternoons with the actual components and integration of the field devices into the system.
Almost half the course is spent on giving you ample opportunity to use what you have learned in hands-on tasks taken straight from our experience.
